Located on the north bank of the Songhua River, the Harbin
Opera House blends into the surrounding wetlands. The
structure was designed by MADArchitects and features glass-
curtain walls and a roof of smoothly curving aluminum
panels. The soaring lobby leads to a wood-paneled theater
seating 1,600 and a smaller theater seating 400.
