DEEPVEINTHROMBOSIS (DVT)
Prolonged leg immobility can cause blood clots
to form within the deep veins of the legs. Warning
signs are pain and tenderness in the leg muscles
and redness and swelling of the skin. If the blood
clot moves to the lungs, breathing difficulties can
occur. To avoid Deep Vein Thrombosis, we suggest
taking the following precautions:
1. Drink water and fruit juice frequently. Avoid
smoking, alcohol and caffeinated drinks during
your journey.
2. Wear loose-fitting clothing.
3. Try our suggested simple leg exercises during
your flight.
4. If you think you may be at risk, consult your
physician before beginning your journey.
5. A professional medical kit is available, and all
flight attendants are trained in basic first aid.
If you feel any discomfort during the flight,
please inform your cabin attendant.
