Taiwan’s first skywalk, Xiao Wulai
Skywalk is an architectural wonder
suspended above the Xiao Wulai
Waterfall, a feature of the Yunei Stream.
Traversing the 70m-high and 11m-long
tempered glass skywalk is like walking
on air. On foggy days, the experience is
akin to strolling through a Song-dynasty
landscape painting. Visitors pay only
NT$50 for a bird’s-eye view of the
waterfall and bucolic countryside a
short bus ride from Daxi in Taoyuan
County.

At the corner of Victoria and Federal Streets in downtown
Auckland is SkyCity, home of the Sky Tower (
skywalk.co.nz
).
Visitors to the 328m tower can gaze out of the windows from the
observation deck and café at 192m or climb out onto the
surrounding walkway for the experience of a lifetime.
“Skywalkers” must be at least 10 years old and are attached via a
body harness and safety cables to steel rails. The 90-minute
guided journey isn’t for the faint of heart — there aren’t any
handrails! Those who are brave enough can try optional
challenges like leaning out over the edge or base jumping by wire
to ground level.
