Victoria Falls might be the biggest, but at a height of 979m,
Angel Falls in Venezuela is definitely the tallest. It’s located deep
within the Canaima National Park, which makes it difficult to
reach but also relatively free of the huge crowds that gather at
many of the other waterfalls on this list.
Visits to the falls usually come as part of multi-day tours
that include chartered flights to the edge of the park, a canoe trip
up the Rio Caroni, and a one-hour hike to the plunge pool. The
effort will be worth it, and not just for the sight of the Angel
Falls. The park is incredibly beautiful and features savannah
grasslands and extensive table-topped mountains.
