The rolling hills and picturesque villages of the Cotswolds have been drawing in
tourists for decades. It’s an area that epitomizes the notion of England being a “green
and pleasant land.” Flowers are in bloom virtually all year round in this southwestern
region, and they can be seen in both the tended gardens of stately homes and in wild
and unkempt woodlands.
Among the many flowers to come into bloom in April and May is the daffodil,
which is regarded by many in this part of the world as a symbol of spring. The best way
to see them is to follow the Daffodil Way, a circular, half-day walk that starts and ends
in Dymock in Gloucestershire and winds its way through orchards, meadows, and
woods.
