Situated in the New York borough of the Bronx, the New York
Botanical Garden is a 250-acre oasis in the heart of one of the
world’s busiest cities. The garden, which is this year
celebrating its 125th anniversary, has over 1 million plants in
50 unique gardens and plant collections, and its grounds even
include a 50-acre piece of woodland that was once part of a
vast forest.
For 14 years, the garden has held an orchid show to
showcase its collection of over 8,000 plants. Visitors will not
only get a chance to see these amazing species in their many
beautiful and unusual forms, but also learn about their
adaptability to landscapes and climates around the world. This
year’s show runs until April 17.
