PHOTOGRAPHY: STPI / MAD
Founded in 2009 by artist Jasmine Tay, this
contemporary art museum in Singapore’s bustling
Orchard area threads kooky and highbrow. MAD’s
19,000sq-ft gallery space includes a sculpture
garden and second-floor VIP room containing
Tay’s personal collection of artworks while the
bistro serves dishes that are as eccentric as the art
(unagi fries, anyone?) Previous exhibitions include
“Mad Love,” an erotica-themed group show with
photographic installations by Japanese artist
Yonehara Yasumasa and Hong Kong artist Wing
Shya plus others.
