The objects we create deliver flair in a way
that is familiar and playful, and combines
elements from both the East and the West.”

“We began our research with the
idea to combine the cultures of the East
and West, a kind of cultural hybrid, and
we found a connection between the
modern Western industrial-style lamp
and a traditional Eastern paper lantern.
When creating our design, we kept the
aesthetic characteristics of each style,
but changed the function. For example,
the light can be dimmed or made
brighter by pulling down or pushing up
the paper lampshade, and the user can
create a spot-lighting effect by adjusting
the direction of the shade. The unique
combination of this kind of ingenuity
and familiarity of appearance is what
lies behind the charm and popularity of
the New Old Table Light.”
