Arguably the most iconic geothermal feature in the world, Old
Faithful is known for its consistent, predictable eruptions that
occur about every 90 minutes. It is located within Yellowstone
National Park (
nps.gov/yell
), which contains around 10,000
individual geothermal features, or half of the world’s total. Old
Faithful reaches a height of 56m and pumps out 14,000-32,000
liters of water during each eruption, which can last from one to
five minutes.
